Our Statement of Faith:
The Word of God:
We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and that it has supreme authority in all matters of Christian beliefs, morals, and practices.
The Trinity:
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons. The Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit.
God the Father:
We believe in God the Father, an infinite, personal spirit, perfect in
holiness, wisdom, power, and love. We
believe that He concerns Himself mercifully in human affairs, that He hears and
answers prayer, and that He spares from condemnation all who come to Him
through Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ:
We
believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit
and born of the virgin Mary. We believe in His sinless life, miracles, and
teachings. We
believe that Jesus Christ shed His blood on the cross as the perfect,
all-sufficient sacrifice for our sins. We believe in His bodily resurrection,
and His ascension into heaven.
The Holy Spirit:
We believe in the personhood and deity of the Holy Spirit who came to
enlighten us regarding our need of Christ as Lord and Savior and to work in our
lives to make us good followers of His.
Salvation:
We believe that everyone is a sinner by nature and by choice, and are,
therefore, under condemnation. We
believe anyone can be spared from condemnation by God’s grace, through faith in
Christ, a faith that produces a life of love and righteousness.
The Church:
We believe in the universal church, a living spiritual body of which
Christ is the Head, and of which all who trust in Christ are members. We believe in being associated in local
churches for worship, fellowship, service, and the proclamation of the Gospel
in its community and around the world.
Christian Conduct:
We believe that a Christian should aim to live for the glory of God by
loving God with our whole being and others as ourselves, by living blamelessly
before God and others, by sharing the Gospel as we have opportunity, and by
being good stewards of our time, talent, and treasure. We believe that every
person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity.
Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward any individual are
to be repudiated. In all matters pertaining to morality and activities of the
church, we apply the Scriptures and the teaching of Jesus Christ in the
establishment of our policies.
The Sacraments:
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ has committed two sacraments to
the local church--baptism and the Lord’s Supper. We believe these two sacraments should be
observed and administered until the day He returns.
The Last Things:
We believe in the personal, visible, and future return of the Lord Jesus
Christ to earth, and the establishment of His kingdom. We believe in the bodily resurrection of both
believers and unbelievers; they that are believers unto the resurrection of
eternal life and they that are unbelievers unto the resurrection of eternal
condemnation.
